I’m Josh, the person behind Cooper River Carts in South Carolina.

This started with a 1988 Club Car DS and a question: what could I turn an old golf cart into if I learned to rebuild it myself?

I’m starting without experience working on golf carts. This blog follows the process—the parts decisions, costs, mistakes, and progress—as I learn.

The body panels are off, and the old lead-acid batteries are out. Ahead are plans for a lithium battery, an AC conversion, upgraded brakes, and a fresh look. I’ll document what actually happens as the build takes shape.
